More about Stephanie...
The Call
I went down to join church and be baptized at the age of ten after seeing my younger sister and cousin head toward the alter. I officially gave my life to Christ at the age of 16 when the death of a close Christian friend helped me realize I needed God in my life. My commitment was recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life and in a little aqua blue journal which I still own. My life has been profoundly enriched because of this one life-changing decision.
Spiritual Gifts
Administration, Exhortation, Discernment
Favorite Scriptures
My life scripture is 2 Corinthians 2:14 which states, “Now thanks be to God who always causes me to triumph in Christ and maketh manifest the savor of His knowledge by me in every place.” This scripture reminds me of who I am in Christ and what is required of me in whatever circumstance I may find myself. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, God gave me a second life scripture in Romans 8:11. It reads, “The Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. And just as He raised Christ from the dead, He will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you.”
Christian role models and resources God used to plant spiritual seeds in my life
Reverend Mabry Gardner; Evans James McBride; my sister Roz; Reverend Asa Dawson; the GNO girls; Sister Mary Smith, Vera Ellis, Vanessa, Eloise, Armatha, Debra and the Witnesses for Christ Sunday School class; Juanita Bynum; Nancy Leigh DeMoss; Anita Carmen; Oswald Chambers; Charles Stanley; Tony Evans; Stormie O’Martian; Shannon Wexelberg; Billy Graham; God's Ladies Empowered for Excellence (G.L.E.E.); the Quilters 5; Pastor and Lady O of First Metropolitan Church in Houston; Doreen Vail; Babbie Mason; KHCB Radio FM 105.7 in Houston; RBC Ministries; the Watchmen Prayer Team…my list is endless…
What I know about God
He keeps His promises…He’s a healer…He is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we ask, think, or imagine…He’s alive in me!...He doesn’t hold grudges…He loves me…He answers prayers...He is powerful…He’s my provider, my peace, and my helper…He is waiting to be gracious to me...He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords...He lives!
What I want others to know about God
God loves you and wants to lavish you with fresh blessings. He will help you through life's challenges and give you the deepest desires of your heart when you commit your life and whole heart to Him.
